Another Book Review....

I read a sweet Christmas book yesterday that y'all may like to look up. It was called "The Christmas Thingamajig". I don't know the author, but it's about a little girl experiencing her first chrismas without her Grandma. She's resistant to taking part in any of the celebratory activities because they just won't be the same without Grandma. Her Grandpa, though, persuades her that we need the continuity to remind us of the good time, and although the memories can hurt, the're sweet too. And one of the memories that the little girl has a hard time with was her grandmother's box of "Christmas Thingamajigs". Ornaments that she made each year that all came out different. They'd just "happen" as the Grandmother was crafting, and she never knew exactly what she was going to make when she started. The girl's Grandpa gives her a boxed present that her Grandma had set aside when she realized she wasn't going to see another Christmas with her family. In the box is a little craft-wire & fabric ornament of two female figures dancing. Evidently it's a reminder of the times the little girl & her Grandma danced around the Christmas tree together when it was finally decorated. The little girl decides that maybe she & her Grandpa can dance together to remember the good times with Grandma.

A definite tear-jerker of a book, but a very sweetly done one. And the pictures are just lovely.

Anyway, must get heading to work.

Have a Blessed Day!
