*SNORT*

Edited to say: well, evidently my SIL lied to MIL this morning when she falsely gave MIL the news that the ultrasound showed a little boy. That little lie was so that MIL would be suprised by the clear ultra-sound pics tonight showing that the new baby is most definitely a girl. And of course MIL got all gushy & teary & kept exclaiming how she couldn't wait to go shopping for a little girl, for a granddaughter. *shaking head* As I KNEW would happen.

And to top it off, on the drive home when I expressed my discust, DH told me to drop it, to let it go, to not worry about it. That DD doesn't really need her Grandma in her life anyway, because she's got him & FIL. Nevermind that maybe _I_ need some support for raising a teenage daughter, from a fellow woman who's "been there, done that" and actually lives in our town. Nope, I'm just supposed to sit back & grin like a freaking fool while MIL & SIL gush on & on about this baby girl, and ignore the fact that 10 years ago _I_ gave MIL her first granddaughter, one she rarely deems worth bothering with. That DD is being shunted off to the side by her grandmother.

And last but not least, when I dared attempt to tell MIL and SIL that guess what their granddaughter/niece is doing now (shaving!), I was told by DH to knock it off & not embarass DD by sharing that kind of info. *shaking head* As if it's now embarassing that I talk to other women about the aspects of teenager-hood & raising one with other adult women.

***** FIRST POST, Faulty news:
So, just a tidbit of "good news" today. SIL found out that she's having another boy!!!!! *wicked little grin* Oh, that IS good news for a very Merry Christmas!!!! So, MIL will have to be contented with the granddaughter she's already got, instead of ignoring DD in hopes that SIL has a little girl. Just had to share!

Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed Day!

wish I were a clever enough wizard that I could go *POOF* and wake up some of those relatives of yours. Kati, you have your head on straight.

Here is my holiday card for you.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year, for a winning hockey season, and for all that's good for you and yours.

Man, so sorry MIL is like that. I guess my grandfolks (esp. the old man) were like that with me and my cousins...always blowing off the older ones for the baby. We didn't have too much favoritism, just the baby thing. I know my Mom got hot about it quite a few times.

Just keep reminding yourself that it is HER loss, because she already has a GD that is wonderful, and she doesn't even know it. She also has a great DIL, and doesn't know that either.

Maybe I should come up there and kick her in the shins.

What is the old saying. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. We go through the same thing and were told we were spoiling our children but now ours are turning out great and the others are the spoiled ones. :) Life is good.

Well, I don't care what DH says, DD DOES need her Granma in her life. From what I can tell you are doing a fantastic job raising her (even without anyone else for support) but even so, DD does need to know her Granma loves her too. It's a shame that baby turned out to be a girl.
