Harvest Moon

It's not exactly the best picture. I tried to get a photo while the moon was still appearing rather big & orange in the sky, but oh well..... I did try. This is our Harvest Moon, tonight. Well.... Last night was TECHNICALLY the full Harvest moon, but this is so close it's impossible to tell otherwise. Just wish it hadn't come out so light.

Just wanted to share.

Have a Blessed Harvest Moon!

I noticed it Wed night when I was on my way to work. I had been feeling so rushed and frazzled (DH is out of state for a few days), and then I saw the moon. It was like magic. The bright, fabulous light that was so soft; the cool, crisp air; the slight bit of cloud cover that bounced the moonlight around. It was so calming and rejuvinating.

I just thought of something...

You remember the movie An American Tale? That song: Somewhere Out There?

Cheezy, but I couldn't help it, both of us checking out the moon states away from each other.

ROFL Cheesy, yes, but that was one of my favorite songs in HS. I'm rather sappy when it comes to music. Love ballads & all. Of course, the intent in that song is a lot more lovey-dovey than 2 hetero moms from seperate corners of the country who share a like of things whimsical & fancifal necessarily need to relate to in regards to each other, but hey... It's all good, huh? *grin*

It was a beautiful moon and is awesome that people all over the world are looking at the same moon at the same time!

Blessings this autumn - I hope things start going better for you all around!

*blushing* I didn't mean anything romantic! I need to just think about what I type. I suppose it's an extension of my terminal case of foot-in-mouth.

ROFL Oh, I know. It just kinda struck me as funny, how as a teen I always had a boy on my mind when I was thinking about that song. And the words lead somewhat in that direction. But, certainly, any two people looking at the moon (or the stars, or whatever) can't help but (occasionally) be struck by how they can be on opposite sides of the country from a friend, a family member, or heck, strangers, and yet when we all look up, we see the same moon. The sentiment holds true, no matter who we are, and who we're thinking of. I'm sure there's some mom in Iraq tonight that'll look at the moon and wonder about a mom living in the USA. Little guys in Africa looking at the moon and wondering about the lives of little boys in Canada.

Sorry, I knew you weren't implying anything when you mentioned the song. It's my sometimes funky thinking that made me mention it. It just struck me as funny that I'd always associated that song with thinking about the guys I was crushing on (one guy in particular, who doesn't happen to be the guy I'm married to).

Crushing on guys sucks. It ESPECIALLY sucks when they are not crushing back at you. Gosh, that happened enough to me....Luckily, I was never one to attach music to my crushes (okay, well, White Lion's 'Till Death Do Us Part is a different story. But don't tell anyone, K?).

It's all good.
